SAFETY ALERT!

Childrens Services

Services provided to child and teen victims of domestic violence include one-on-one counseling, support group and advocacy. These services are provided in an effort to help the children feel safe and listened to and to provide access to knowledge and resources. During counseling or in support group we address:

• Safety Planning

• Defining violence and abuse

• Identifying and expressing feelings

• Settling conflict appropriately

• Making and keeping friends

• Building self confidence

We give children and teens the opportunity to talk and share what their experience has been like and what they would like to see happen in their future. Safety planning is an important part of this program. We explore with them how they have stayed safe in the past and help them discover ways they can stay safe in the future.
